The emergency department at Sacred Heart Hospital is opened 24 hours, 365 days a year, capable of handling all types of emergencies. We specialize in acute care of patients who comes without prior appointment. Due to the unplanned nature of patient attendance, the department provides initial treatment for a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which may be life-threatening and require immediate attention. Patients frequently arrive with unstable conditions, and so must be treated quickly. They may be unconscious, and information such as their medical history, allergies, and blood type may be unavailable. A team of dedicated medical, nursing and paramedical staff trained to work quickly.When arrived at the Emergency Department each patient’s condition is prioritized, typically by nurse and doctor, on triage basis. Depending on a patient’s specific medical condition, physicians will admit the patient to the hospital, discharge the patient, or transfer the patient to a more appropriate medical facility. We also deal with all types of medico legal cases

Services/Treatments Offered

  • After initial assessment and treatment the patients are either admitted or discharged or transferred to another hospital after stabilizing.
  • The department acts as a good host to the patients, where they are received at the entry by ensuring comfort and urgency one requires. The nursing staff is fully trained to provide necessary assistance to the doctor on duty to assess and provide immediate and timely medication.
  • The patient is kept till initial stabilization and necessary documentation, initial blood sampling, ECG etc. Have been completed. The attendants are also kept informed about the likely disease / prognosis.
